PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kwame Moto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Stack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Tupac_Hit em' up. Stack has chosen Deer Dance as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stack misses with a wild combination.
Moto on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Stack closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stack lands in his opponent's guard.
Stack landing with the ground and pound.
Stack working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Stack trying to control the position from guard on top but Moto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Stack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stack throws a shot from downtown. Moto moves away and avoids it.
Moto fails to land with a series of punches.

Nice sprawl there from Moto as Stack shoots in.
Moto tries to clinch but Stack moves out of range.

Stack looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Moto is fending him off so far but Stack persists. Nope, Moto circles away and we're back to standing.
Kwame Moto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Stack.

Moto connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stack. Stack circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Moto misses with a double jab

and Stack decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Moto's guard.
Moto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Stack is staying active underneath Moto, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Moto prevents Stack from improving his position.
Moto works his foot free and advances to mount.
Moto controlling from mount.
Stack is trying desperately to improve position.
Stack is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
You get the feeling that Stack really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Stack manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Stack moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stack wants to sweep but no luck.
Stack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moto's guard.
Moto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stack!
Stack bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Stack loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Moto has his foot on Stack's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stack works his way back into a safe position though.

Stack wants to control from the top but Moto keeps moving.
Stack might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Moto kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Moto is looking to clinch.
Stack misses with a wild combination.
Moto misses with a double jab.
Stack fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stack moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stack scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Moto to see if he's OK.

Moto takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Stack circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moto looks to land a left hand but Stack moved out of range nicely.
Moto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Moto seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Stack shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Moto is backing up but Stack catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Moto covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Stack Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
