The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilcox gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Schimpson counters with a left to the body.

Wilcox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schimpson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Schimpson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Wilcox fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wilcox throws a strike aimed at the side of Schimpson's head but Schimpson avoids it well.
Wilcox trying to control the position but Schimpson is working away.

Wilcox working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Schimpson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Schimpson dodges the ground and pound from Wilcox.
Schimpson tries to bench press Wilcox off him but Wilcox keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilcox lands a decent elbow from side control.

An elbow from Wilcox crashes against the mat.

Wilcox working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilcox is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schimpson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Schimpson is looking to reverse the position.
Wilcox throws an elbow but Schimpson slips to the side and avoids it well.

Wilcox is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Schimpson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wilcox gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Schimpson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wilcox lets go of the hold and Schimpson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
