Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarzan Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tarzan Cannon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Perez keeps the fight on the outside.
Cannon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Perez slips a jab and a cross from Cannon.
Cannon with a poor takedown
and Cannon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tarzan Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Perez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cannon counters with a three punch combo that has Perez backing up. Perez nods at Cannon to acknowledge the strikes.
Cannon tries for a takedown but Perez circles away easily
and Perez makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Cannon really felt that one!
Mike Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tarzan Cannon.
Cannon looks gassed!
Perez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cannon tries to avoid it but Perez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cannon to the ground. Cannon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cannon.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Perez is defended easily by Cannon.
Perez lands a head kick. Cannon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Perez moves into the clinch.
Cannon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Perez decides to pull guard.
Cannon being controlled here momentarily.
Cannon wants to get up but he can't break Perez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Perez pushes Cannon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cannon tries to keep at a distance but Perez has taken the fight into the clinch.

Perez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

and Perez counters with a single leg into guard. Cannon didn't expect that.
Perez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Perez advances to half guard.
Cannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Perez wants to control but Cannon is keeping him busy.
Cannon is breathing heavily.
Perez is just content to waste time from the top position. Cannon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Perez is looking to work some ground and pound but Cannon has wrist control.
Perez engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Perez.
Cannon gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Perez lands with a cross.
Perez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Perez takes the fight into the clinch.
Cannon has had enough of the clinch but Perez keeps him there for the moment.
Cannon wants to break free but Perez has control.
Cannon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

and Perez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Perez stands and throws Cannon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Perez stands up and beckons Cannon to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Perez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cannon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cannon has escaped and now he's on top!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cannon is looking to stand up but Perez won't let him.
Perez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Perez cracks Cannon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We're going to have a standup here because Mike Perez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Perez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cannon smiles and moves away.

and Perez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cannon!

Mike Perez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Perez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
