Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between SPideR RicO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). RicO's entrance music is Let THE BODIES hit the FLOOR!. A fine choice. McKenzie has chosen Norma Jean- Memphis Will be Laid to Waste as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, SPideR RicO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
RicO has a takedown stuffed.
Horrible takedown by RicO or perhaps it was just good defense by McKenzie which made him look bad.
McKenzie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McKenzie throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from McKenzie misses.
RicO throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
RicO showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McKenzie.
RicO really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
RicO needs to keep his hands up - McKenzie had a free shot at his head there.

RicO shoots in and bounces McKenzie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

McKenzie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McKenzie keeping moving, preventing RicO from controlling successfully.
RicO content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
McKenzie wants to stand but RicO is controlling the position.

McKenzie working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because RicO has passed into half guard!
RicO is trying to control the action in half guard but McKenzie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McKenzie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
RicO has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McKenzie is trying to escape the mount.
RicO trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McKenzie is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
RicO with a couple of short strikes.
RicO lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McKenzie hang on?
RicO scores with a couple of good head shots there.

RicO gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

RicO fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Paul McKenzie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
RicO throws a chopping leg kick but McKenzie manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

RicO swings around for an armbar but McKenzie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into RicO's guard.
McKenzie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

RicO shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

RicO throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McKenzie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
RicO wants to control from the top but McKenzie keeps moving.

McKenzie is working an open guard so RicO takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
McKenzie lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

RicO looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McKenzie!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McKenzie is trying to escape the mount.

RicO jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McKenzie manages to avoid the submission attempt.
McKenzie is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, RicO asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
RicO lands a decent elbow from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

SPideR RicO dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


McKenzie throws a series of punches but RicO moves out of range.
McKenzie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
RicO looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

RicO closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
RicO comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
RicO scores a nice knee to the body.
RicO goes for a takedown in the clinch but McKenzie prevents it.

RicO decides to pull guard.
RicO striking off his back but it's not causing McKenzie any problems.

McKenzie has gone for a leg lock! RicO slips out almost immediately though and dives into McKenzie's guard.

RicO stands up from guard. Let's bang!
McKenzie fails to land with a series of punches.

RicO fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McKenzie, pushing him back against the cage.

RicO successfully pulls guard.
RicO is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

RicO is looking for a kimura but McKenzie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for RicO to get the leverage.

RicO decides to return to a standing position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
RicO walks into a jab.
McKenzie lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as RicO backs up against the cage.
McKenzie throws a right and a left that RicO avoids nicely.
RicO fails with an attempt to clinch.
RicO looks for a takedown but McKenzie sprawls well.

McKenzie lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

McKenzie sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

RicO seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McKenzie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

RicO tries to pass the half guard into mount. McKenzie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McKenzie pushes RicO off looking to stand but RicO dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are battling for position here. McKenzie manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
RicO fails with the takedown.

McKenzie looks to land a combination. RicO sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
RicO avoids the body shot from McKenzie.
A combination from McKenzie does no damage.
RicO shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McKenzie as he avoids it easily.

RicO clinches up with McKenzie and pushes him back against the cage.

RicO manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
RicO doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

RicO is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

RicO working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McKenzie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McKenzie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
RicO is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McKenzie drops back, looking for a kneebar! RicO looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. RicO looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from RicO!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

SPideR RicO dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



RicO closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
RicO passes to side control.
RicO happy to just control the position for now.
RicO looking to control but instead McKenzie has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
RicO slips a nice elbow through McKenzie's hands, connecting with McKenzie's forehead.
RicO wants to pass the guard but McKenzie is defending well.
McKenzie is trying to stand back up but RicO is controlling him
SPideR RicO overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

RicO is working for a kimura but McKenzie is defending it quite comfortably.
RicO seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McKenzie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

RicO is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

McKenzie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but RicO pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McKenzie fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

SPideR RicO is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
RicO shoots in but McKenzie avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McKenzie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but RicO moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McKenzie has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
McKenzie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
RicO shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McKenzie as he avoids it easily.
McKenzie dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

No joy there for McKenzie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McKenzie stuffs the takedown attempt from RicO. RicO gets slowly back to his feet.
RicO shoots in looking for a takedown. McKenzie tries to sprawl out of it but RicO keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McKenzie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McKenzie throws a nice looking combination but RicO bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Paul McKenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
RicO shoots in and drives through. McKenzie sprawls well.
McKenzie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
RicO will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McKenzie misses with a two punch combination.
McKenzie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but RicO moves away.
RicO moves away from the strike by McKenzie.

RicO moves into range and clinches up with McKenzie.

RicO pulls guard effortlessly.
RicO controls McKenzie momentarily but McKenzie frees himself.

McKenzie stands up and waves to RicO to follow him.
RicO throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McKenzie's waist but McKenzie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing RicO off to one side.
RicO closes this distance looking for a takedown but McKenzie circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
RicO shoots in for a takedown but McKenzie shows good takedown defense.

RicO feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

McKenzie throws his legs up looking for a submission but RicO uses it to pass to side control.

RicO has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Paul McKenzie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
RicO seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. McKenzie shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! RicO is backing up but McKenzie catches him with a final right hook that drops him! RicO covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! McKenzie Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul McKenzie!
