Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donny Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geoff Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns has chosen Skrillex - Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Burns on the side of the head.

No joy there for Burns, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Burns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson.
Jackson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Burns clobbers Jackson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Jackson scores with a one two! Burns had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Jackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Burns on the side of the head.
Jackson jabs Burns to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jackson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jackson throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily.
Burns lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jackson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Burns counters with a good, hard body kick but Jackson shrugs it off.
Burns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Burns lands with a hook. Jackson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Jackson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Burns scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Burns is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Burns shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jackson eats them both and turns towards Burns to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Burns scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jackson doesn't seem bothered though.
Burns has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Burns throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jackson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Burns fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Burns comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Burns scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Jackson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Burns lands a front kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Burns, as that shot connected.
Jackson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Jeez, Donny Jackson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Burns is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
