Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thiago Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Foster!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Foster.
Foster tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Foster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Foster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alves as he avoids it easily.
Thiago Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Foster.
Foster throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab.
Alves rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Foster moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alves tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Foster swivels and escapes.
Alves throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alves misses with a double jab

and Foster holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Alves is trying to push Foster away but Foster has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Alves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Foster escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Alves tries to keep at a distance but Foster has taken the fight into the clinch.
Foster keeps control of Alves as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Foster is trying to break free.
Foster lands a body shot.
Foster tries to pull guard but Alves holds him up against the cage and eventually Foster drops back down to his feet.
Foster throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Alvess head.
Foster lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Alves backwards.

Alves is trying to break free.
Alves wants to get back to striking at distance but Foster won't allow it.
Foster lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Foster breaks the clinch.
Thiago Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Foster fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alves, pushing him back against the cage.

Foster tightens his grip and picks Alves up, before dumping him to the ground. Alves manages to land in guard.
Foster wants to stand and escape but instead Alves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Alves wanted to stand there but Foster had control of the position.
Foster pulls Alves in close to prevent any damage.

Foster has a closed guard, preventing Alves from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Foster can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cole Foster was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Foster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alves circles away.

Alves fails to land with a series of punches.

and Foster counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Foster keeps control of Alves as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Alves looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Foster tries to break free but Alves pushes him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Foster.
Foster is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Alves is defending well for now.

Alves's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Alves goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Foster keeps control of Alves as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Alves wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foster has him pressed against the cage.

Foster decides to pull guard.
Foster is looking to stand up but Alves isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole Foster dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Alves counters with a two punch combo.
Alves swats away the attempt to clinch by Foster.
Alves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Alves counters with a nice uppercut.
Alves fails to land with a series of punches.

Alves has Foster pressed against the cage, preventing Foster from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Alves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Foster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Foster slips a straight right by Alves.
Alves fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Foster.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Alves enables Foster to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Foster is pushing down on Alves's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alves is fighting to maintain full guard but Foster has managed to sneak the leg through.
Foster is pressing down on Alves's thigh, looking to free his foot. Alves is holding on for now.

Foster thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Foster throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Foster tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alves knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Foster takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cole Foster hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Foster fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alves fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Foster manages to avoid it.
Foster cracks Alves with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Foster rushes Alves and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Foster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Foster misses with the combination.
Foster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alves tries to avoid it but Foster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alves to the ground. Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thiago Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Foster.
Alves throws a head kick but Foster moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Foster 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Alves looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Foster throws a body kick that misses.
Foster shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Foster wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance.
Foster gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Alves.
Alves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Foster lands a jab-cross combination.

Foster is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alves's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Foster tries to clinch there but Alves circles away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Foster counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard.
Alves is pulling down on Foster's head to control his posture.
Foster trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Alves manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Foster pulls Alves in close to his closed guard and prevents Alves from doing any damage or advancing position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alves wants to stand but Foster has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Foster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alves circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
No joy there for Foster, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Foster is looking to land body kicks.
Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Foster moves out of range easily.
Alves jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Foster misses with a wild combination.
Foster tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Alves counters with a head kick.
Foster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Foster.
A punch combination from Alves misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Foster.
Alves sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foster trying to mount his opponent but Alves defends it.
Alves is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Foster scores with a couple of nice shots.
Foster throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cole Foster has got the better of the ground game so far.
Foster tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Foster is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Foster wants to stand but Alves has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Foster wants to free his trapped foot but Alves is holding on for dear life with his legs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cole Foster comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Foster winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
