Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hessu Hopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bodies kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Hessu Hopo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Joseph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hessu Hopo! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopo blocks a low kick nicely. Hopo feints a jab promting Joseph to slip. Hopo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Joseph slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Joseph throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Joseph fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hopo to the ground. Joseph is now in Hopo's guard. Hopo keeping moving, preventing Joseph from controlling successfully. Hopo working for a triangle but Joseph defends it easily.
Joseph stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hopo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hopo looking for a guillotine here but Joseph defends easily.
Hopo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joseph can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Joseph throwing strikes from guard but Hopo blocks nicely.

Joseph lands a couple of elbows. Hopo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Hopo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Joseph is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joseph trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hopo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hopo looks to land a strike but Joseph avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hopo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Joseph works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hopo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joseph swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hopo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hopo is stalling in the full guard. Joseph is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hopo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hopo is looking to work some ground and pound but Joseph has wrist control. Hopo throws a big right hand that misses.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hopo throws and elbow that misses. Joseph uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hopo's guard. Nice move by Joseph! Hopo looking for a sweep. Not yet Hopo, not yet. Hopo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hopo keeping moving, preventing Joseph from controlling successfully. Joseph missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hopo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Joseph is surviving well by controlling Hopo's body position as best he can. Hopo thowing shots but they're missing. Hopo looking to ground and pound but Joseph is blocking nicely. Hopo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Joseph might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hopo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Hessu Hopo dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hopo feints and as Joseph raises his hands in defense, Hopo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hopo wants to control from the top but Joseph keeps moving. Hopo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joseph is keeping the position for now. Hopo with a flurry of punches that miss. Joseph working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hopo. Hopo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hopo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Joseph dives on top into guard. Joseph got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hopo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joseph has managed to get both his arms back between Hopo's legs - danger averted. Hopo looking for a sweep. Not yet Hopo, not yet. Hessu Hopo has got the better of the ground game so far. Joseph working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hopo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Joseph lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hopo trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Joseph cracks Hopo with a solid left hand. Hopo throwing short punches from the bottom. Hopo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Joseph is aware though and is defending well. Hopo is breathing heavily. Joseph looking to pass the guard. Hopo trying to strike off his back.
Joseph stands and throws Hopo's legs to the side, diving into side control. Joseph is trying to move to mount but Hopo reverses beautifully and ends up in Joseph's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hopo tries to free his leg and advance position but Joseph is retaining full guard.

Joseph utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hopo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Joseph looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Joseph looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Joseph! Hopo tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Hopo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joseph looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hopo is looking for a sweep. Hopo throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Joseph working the head and body with strikes. Joseph working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Joseph trying to control the action but Hopo is working from the bottom. Hopo is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hopo throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Hopo sneaks back into half guard. Joseph is nestled in close to Hopo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hopo is trying to maintain the position but Joseph is very close to passing his half guard. Hopo trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Hopo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Hopo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Joseph is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hopo, into his guard. Hopo trying to keep a closed guard but Joseph is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Joseph will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Hopo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Joseph manages to get to full guard.
Hopo throws a strike but Joseph rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hopo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hopo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joseph gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hopo keeping moving, preventing Joseph from controlling successfully. Joseph stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hopo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hopo wants to sweep here but Joseph controlling him for the moment. Joseph wants to control from the top but Hopo keeps moving. Joseph is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Joseph wasn't doing enough on the ground. Joseph changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hopo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hopo is trying to improve his position. Hopo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hopo is trying to control but can't.
Joseph thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hopo's head. Hopo trying to hold on to Joseph's head to control him but Joseph postures up.

Joseph is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there. Joseph thows a big elbow that misses. Hopo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
