Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Russian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, The Buddha! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buddha tries to clinch and Russian counters with a lovely straight right hand! Buddha tries to clinch but Russian moves away and Russian counters with a nice uppercut. Buddha looks to clinch and Russian counters with a lovely straight right hand! Buddha darts in trying to clinch and Russian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Buddha wants to clinch but Russian slips to the side enabling Russian to counter with a crisp jab. Buddha misses with an attempted mid kick.
Russian circles away from the clinch attempt and Russian counters with a stiff right hand. Buddha throws a right hand that Russian ducks under and follows up with a left that Russian also avoids with ease. The Buddha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Buddha avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buddha tries to clinch but fails miserably and Russian makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Russian fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buddha, pushing him back against the cage. Buddha misses with a knee to the head. Buddha tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Buddha lands a body punch. Buddha blocks an elbow strike from Russian.
Buddha landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Russian is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Both fighters working to control the clinch. Buddha drops Russian with a big knee straight up the middle! Russian is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
It looks like Fedor Russian has been cut. Buddha throws a series of punches but Russian avoids them all with ease. Buddha tries to close the distance and clinch but Russian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Russian tries to bum rush Buddha with a series of wild strikes but Buddha uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Buddha moves to clinch but Russian breaks away and Russian counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Russian. Buddha landing knees to the head.
Buddha lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Russian is rocked! Buddha lands a big right hand that drops Russian! The killer instinct kicks in and Buddha finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Buddha!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Buddha!
