The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos misses with a low kick.
Ramos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ramos throws a leg kick but Saukko moved away.
Ramos misses with a double jab.
Nice shot by Ramos.
Ramos throws a head kick that misses.
Ramos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ramos throws a right hand that Saukko ducks under and follows up with a left that Saukko also avoids with ease.
Ramos throws a lazy uppercut
and Saukko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ramos tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ramos is pushing Saukko up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ramos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ramos connects with a nice looking jab.

and Saukko counters with a nice uppercut.
Ramos drops Saukko with a beautiful combination! Saukko stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ramos is looking for the KO!

Saukko swings for the body but Ramos moves out of range.

Saukko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Saukko wants to control but Ramos is keeping him busy.
Ramos tries to buck Saukko off but Saukko is having none of it.

Ramos is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Saukko's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Saukko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ramos's guard.

Saukko is just content to waste time from the top position. Ramos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Saukko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Saukko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ramos looking to control but Saukko passes into half guard.
Ramos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Saukko misses with a head shot. Ramos uses the momentum to regain guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Emilio Ramos dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Per Saukko's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ramos misses with a wild body shot.
Ramos throws an overhand right that lands on Saukko's shoulder, as Saukko tries to avoid the shot.
Ramos tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ramos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Emilio Ramos has been cut.
Ramos looks to land a left hand but Saukko moved out of range nicely.
Ramos throws a lazy uppercut
and Saukko counters with a shoot takedown. Ramos fights it but they end up in guard.
Saukko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Saukko seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Saukko looking to sit in guard and control but Ramos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Saukko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Saukko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Saukko is pulling down on Ramos's head. It's preventing any offense from Ramos, at least for the moment.
Ramos trying to control the position from guard on top but Saukko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Saukko tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Saukko seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Saukko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ramos avoids it really well and circles away.
Ramos throws a head kick that half lands.
Oooooh!!! Ramos has knocked Saukko down with a huge combo! Ramos steps away and waves a wobbly Saukko back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saukko scores with the left hand. Ramos knows he should have avoided that one.
Saukko takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ramos lands a left and a right that send Saukko crashing to the mat, dazed. Ramos thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ramos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Saukko was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramos.

A jab from Saukko does it's job there.
Ramos will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ramos closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Saukko slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Ramos. Saukko does a little dance to reset his feet.
Saukko is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Ramos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Saukko dodges the punch combination from Ramos.
Saukko thuds his right hand into Ramos's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Saukko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Saukko showed some decent athleticism there.
Saukko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ramos sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ramos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Saukko is working away from the top position though.

Emilio Ramos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Saukko feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ramoss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Per Saukko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Saukko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Emilio Ramos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
