Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Bova!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bova will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
West misses with a double jab

and Bova counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Bova seems to be working for a kimura but West defends the submission attempt.
West is trying to stand back up but Bova is controlling him
Nice strikes from Bova there.

West makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

A jab-cross combination lands for Bova and sends West crashing to the mat! Bova follows him down to the mat - West regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


West is rocked!


It looks like Jay West has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West is breathing heavily.
Bova is looking to advance position but West won't allow it.
Bova trying to control from half guard but West is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
West regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bova.
Bova trying to control the position from guard on top but West is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bova won't allow West to get back to his feet.

Bova postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! West is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bova, into his guard.
Bova tries to strike from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bova not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bova will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bova kicks West off and gets to his feet.
Bova rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but West moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

West drives through with a takedown into Bova's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
West postures up.
Bova wants to control but West passes easily into half guard.
West is controlling the pace.
West trying to pass the guard but Bova defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
West content to control rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
West not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Bova preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay West.
West dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bova. That did some damage!
West falls off balance throwing a combination

and Bova counters by moving into the clinch.
West is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bova gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
West is looking to break free of the clinch but Bova has double underhooks.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
West keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bova's efforts to push away.
West wants to break free but Bova has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Bova dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jay West's cut.
That's time! West's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


West throws a combination that misses

and Bova counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bova.
West will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bova up against the cage.
West has had enough of the clinch but Bova keeps him there for the moment.
West working hard to break the clinch.
West tries to break free but Bova pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

West's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bova is trying hard to land a takedown here. West sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
West swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bova counters with an outside leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bova lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and West falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Anthony Bova!
