Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Kravichenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Abramova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abramova comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Believe kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Kravichenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Abramova! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abramova doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kravichenko counters with a straight right hand. Kravichenko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Abramova gets back to half guard. Kravichenko not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Abramova trying to control here.
Abramova is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Abramova keeps control of the position for the meantime. Kravichenko misses with a head shot. Abramova uses the momentum to regain guard. Kravichenko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kravichenko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kravichenko is fighting to break Abramova's control of his arms but Abramova is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kravichenko with a flurry of punches that miss. Abramova is keen to just control but Kravichenko is a slippery customer. Abramova tries to pass to full mount but Kravichenko defends it. Kravichenko actively working from the bottom here. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kravichenko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Abramova works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kravichenko preventing the sweep. Abramova shoots and misses and Kravichenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Abramova's guard. Abramova controls Kravichenko momentarily but Kravichenko frees himself. Kravichenko scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kravichenko landing with the ground and pound. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abramova can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Abramova trying to control but Kravichenko is working from the bottom. Abramova content to stall in guard here. Kravichenko looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Abramova passes into side control.
Abramova has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Abramova has his takedown stuffed and Kravichenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kravichenko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Abramova's head. Kravichenko is thwarting Abramova's attempts to control the position. Kravichenko is looking to get back to full guard here but Abramova has managed to pass to side control instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
