And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santo Montoya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Forster counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Forster slips nicely into half guard.

Forster decides to stand and escape the position.
Forster avoids the head kick by Santo Montoya.

and Forster counters with a shoot takedown. Santo Montoya fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Forster swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Santo Montoya is now in Forster's guard. A big mistake from Forster there, giving up the dominant position!
Santo Montoya is fighting to break Forster's control of his arms but Forster is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Forster is looking for a triangle but Santo Montoya pushes his legs off easily.

and Santo Montoya counters with a shoot takedown. Forster fights it but they end up in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Santo Montoya wants to control from the top but Forster keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Forster seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santo Montoya does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mark Forster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
