The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez looks to land a combination but Castello avoids it well.
A chopping leg kick lands by Rodriguez.
Castello blocks a head kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Rodriguez tries to bum rush Castello with a series of wild strikes but Castello uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rodriguez lands with a nice body punch.
Rodriguez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Castello counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Castello passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Rodriguez is looking for a sweep. Castello is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rodriguez is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Castello jumps into side control!

Castello slows the pace down.
Castello lands an elbow.
Castello is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rodriguez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Castello gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rodriguez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Castello lets go of the hold and Rodriguez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
