The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birchum lands a nice shot to the body.
Ferreira tries to clinch up.
Birchum throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ferreira stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ferreira shoots in for a double leg but Birchum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ferreira is breathing heavily.
Birchum lands a jab to Ferreira's midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ferreira tries to move into range but Birchum moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Wanderley Ferreira has been cut.

Birchum feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ferreira sprawling to the canvas! Ferreira rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Birchum finish him?!

Ferreira is rocked!
Birchum lands a big right hook! Ferreira looks hurt but is still standing! Birchum lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Ferreira falls down and Birchum dives in with a huge hammer fist! Ferreira's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Birchum runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
