Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Polk!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esposito attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Esposito throws a low kick but Polk moves out of range easily.
Esposito throws a lazy head kick
and Polk counters with a nice uppercut.
Esposito feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Polk's calf.
Esposito misses with a low kick.
A jab lands there for Polk.


It looks like Frank Esposito has been cut.
Polk misses with an uppercut
and Esposito counters with a good low kick that Polk was not able to check.

Polk shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Esposito manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Polk wants to control from the top but Esposito keeps moving.
Polk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Polk looking to sit in guard and control but Esposito gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Polk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Esposito trying to control the position from guard on top but Polk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Esposito is really struggling to control Polk but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Polk looking for a sweep. Not yet Polk, not yet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Esposito wanted to stand there but Polk had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Frank Esposito just wasn't active enough.
Esposito goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Polk misses with a right hand
and Esposito counters with a thumping low kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Esposito. That's going to slow Polk down.
Polk misses with a hook
and Esposito makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
A clash of legs there as Polk blocks the low kick.
Esposito throws a leg kick but Polk moved away.
Polk misses with an uppercut

and Esposito counters by clinching up.

Esposito trying to land knees to the body.
Esposito throws a head punch that misses.
Polk letting Esposito take a breather here.
Esposito lands a body punch in the clinch.
Esposito lands a left hand.
A short right from Esposito on the inside.
Esposito misses with a knee strike.
Polk drops down looking for an ankle pick but Esposito pulls his leg out and moves away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Esposito, as that shot connected.
Esposito tries a low kick but Polk avoids it.
Esposito buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Esposito wants to clinch up but Polk keeps it at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Esposito misses with a low kick.
Polk swings away with a body shot that misses
and Esposito counters with a left to the body.
Esposito misses with a lunging right hand

and Polk counters with a single leg into guard. Esposito didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Esposito looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Esposito working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Polk.
Esposito tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Polk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Esposito will probably get the nod.

Polk swings for the body but Esposito moves out of range.
Esposito moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Polk misses with an uppercut
and Esposito counters with a head kick. That will keep Polk thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
A nice inside leg kick there by Esposito. That's going to slow Polk down.

and Esposito counters with a nice kick to the body.
Polk throws a poor cross that misses
and Esposito counters with a straight right hand.
Esposito throws a leg kick that is checked
and Polk counters with a nice low kick that buckles Esposito's knee momentarily.
Polk blocks a leg kick.
Frank Esposito is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Esposito is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


Polk is rocked!
Polk throws an off balance right hand
and Esposito counters with a huge left! Polk is in big trouble! He's backing up but Esposito isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Polk from any more damage. A dominating finish by Esposito!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Esposito!
