The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AlThor is looking to clinch.
AlThor doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sonny counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sonny has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of AlThor is proving hard to escape from.
AlThor looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sonny stops AlThor from standing up.
Sonny has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

AlThor misses with a double jab
