PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mera comes into the arena with The Automatic - Monster blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mera changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mera lunges at Barnes with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Barnes's hand.
Barnes tries to clinch
and Mera counters with a nice body shot.
Mera swings widly with a right hand
and Barnes counters with a one-two to the body.
Mera misses with a lunging right hand
and Barnes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mera's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mera duly obliges.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mera lands a nice shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barnes throws a head punch that misses.
Barnes takes an elbow to the forehead.
Mera goes for a takedown attempt but Barnes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mera lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Barnes is rocked!
Mera flashes Barnes a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Barnes's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Barnes crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Mera punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
