0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Estefan Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markey scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sanchez is not content to let Markey control the position. Sanchez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Sanchez wants to get back to full guard. Sanchez is not content to let Markey control the position. Sanchez is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Markey jumps into side control! Sanchez is trying to get back to half guard.

Markey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Markey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sanchez working a defensive guard but Markey manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Markey wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sanchez is trying to control Markey's posture but Markey avoids it. Markey decides to stand back up. Markey steps back and let's Sanchez get back to his feet. Sanchez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sanchez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Markey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Markey has escaped and now he's on top! Sanchez looks gassed! Markey stands and throws Sanchez's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sanchez wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Markey has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Sanchez's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Sanchez is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Markey!
