PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jai Setright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Przemyslaw Kaczynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Setright comes into the arena with Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr blaring out of the sound system. Kaczynski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. AC/DC - Thunderstruck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jai Setright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Przemyslaw Kaczynski!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Setright tries to bum rush Kaczynski with a series of wild strikes but Kaczynski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Setright shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kaczynski manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kaczynski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kaczynski is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Setright is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Przemyslaw Kaczynski was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Setright drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kaczynski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Kaczynski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Setright might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kaczynski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Setright keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaczynski wants to stand and escape but instead Setright has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kaczynski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Setright is working away from the top position though.
Setright seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kaczynski is trying to break the clinch but Setright has him pressed against the cage.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Setright shoots in and drives through. Kaczynski sprawls well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Setright tries to bench press Kaczynski off him but Kaczynski keeps the position.

Przemyslaw Kaczynski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Setright looking to score a takedown here. Kaczynski is defending well but Setright drives through and ends up in Kaczynski's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Setright sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kaczynski is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Jai Setright wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kaczynski leaves Setright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kaczynski scores with a one two! Setright had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Setright shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kaczynski's guard.

Setright dives in and grabs Kaczynski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kaczynski pushes down on Setright's head and hops out.
