Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Mancini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Thorpe!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorpe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Scott Thorpe has been cut.

Thorpe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mancini was covering up waiting for the punch and Thorpe finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mancini trying to keep a closed guard but Thorpe is proving a slippery customer.
Thorpe is pushing down on Mancini's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mancini is fighting to maintain full guard but Thorpe has managed to sneak the leg through.
Thorpe not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Thorpe stops Mancini from getting back to his feet.

Mancini keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mancini knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thorpe on the ground.
Mancini is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Thorpe scores with a couple of nice shots.
Thorpe drops an elbow to the side of Mancini's head.
Mancini avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Thorpe.
Mancini is refusing to be controlled, as Thorpe sits in half guard.
Thorpe controlling the action here.
Thorpe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thorpe wants to pass to mount but Mancini is defending the position.
Thorpe not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Thorpe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mancini's head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thorpe in particular looking to stall.
It looks like Thorpe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Thorpe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mancini is staying active underneath Thorpe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Thorpe is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mancini is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
