Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shanz Podo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shanz Podo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Pain!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain looks for the body kick but Podo saw that one coming.
Pain keeps the fight on the outside.
Podo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Podo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Pain drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pain throwing strikes but missing.
Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Podo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Podo wants to sweep but no luck.
Pain is looking to stand up but Podo won't let him.
Pain controls from within his opponent's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pain preventing the sweep.

Mark Pain has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Pain closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Podo's guard.
Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Podo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Podo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pain controls the pace.
Pain won't allow Podo to sweep him here.
Pain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Podo wants to stand but Pain is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Pain.
Podo wants to clinch up but Pain keeps it at a distance.

A head kick misses from Podo.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pain.
Podo gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Podo landing a few short strikes.
Pain working the head and body with strikes.
Pain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Podo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Podo misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Pain with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Pain takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pain stalling away here and it's allowed Podo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Podo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pain wants to stand but Podo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pain postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pain seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Podo trying to keep a closed guard but Pain is proving a slippery customer.
Podo has a closed guard, preventing Pain from standing up.
Pain trying to control but Podo is working from the bottom.
Pain looks gassed!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Podo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pain misses with the combination.
Pain tries to close the distance and clinch but Podo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Podo throws a nice head kick!
Podo lets loose with a powerful body kick. Pain will feel that in the morning.
Shanz Podo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pain closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pain lands in his opponent's guard.

Pain is breathing heavily.
Podo keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully.

Podo looking to control.

Podo pushes Pain off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Pain doesn't manage to clinch there - Podo circles away.
Podo wants to clinch up but Pain keeps it at a distance.
Pain fails to land the takedown.

Pain drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Podo is on top in guard.

Pain is working an open guard so Podo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Podo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Podo lands a head kick!
Podo wants to clinch up but Pain keeps it at a distance.
Pain takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Podo throws a nice head kick!
Podo throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Podo scores with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pain is looking to clinch.
Podo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Podo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A head kick misses from Podo.
Podo lands with a kick to the temple. Pain shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Pain fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pain tries to clinch but Podo moves out of range.

Pain scores with a takedown into Podo's guard.
Pain wants to control from the top but Podo keeps moving.
Podo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pain.
Podo pulls Pain in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pain looking to sit in guard and control but Podo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Podo advances position into side control!
Podo cracks Pain with a big right hand but Pain just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Podo decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pain trying to control but Podo is having none of it.
Pain lands a nice shot to the head.
Podo wants to hold on but Pain pushes him away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pain controlling from the full mount.
Pain wants to stand but Podo is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Podo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Podo is looking to improve his position but Pain isn't that keen on the idea.
Pain tries to control but Podo wriggling away.
Podo is looking to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pain working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Podo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Pain lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain is thwarting Podo's attempts to control the position.
Podo gets back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pain tries to free his leg and advance position but Podo is retaining full guard.
Pain postures up.
Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Podo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Podo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Podo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Podo!
Podo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pain!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pain is squirming around, avoiding Podo's attempts to control the action.
Podo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Podo wants to control the pace but Pain is squirming around nicely.
Podo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain is squirming around, avoiding Podo's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Podo landing strikes from the mount and Pain is in trouble!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mark Pain.
I think Pain has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
