Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason Youngblood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Finnick Carmelo!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmelo shoots for a takedown but Youngblood saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Youngblood throws a low kick, looking for Carmelo's leg but Carmelo calmly moves out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Youngblood.
Carmelo tries to land a leg kick but Youngblood saw it coming and moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Carmelo blocks the leg kick.

Youngblood closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carmelo quickly recovers to half guard.

Youngblood is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Carmelo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Youngblood is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carmelo defends it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Youngblood wants to work for an arm triangle but Carmelo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Youngblood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carmelo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carmelo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Carmelo wants to pass the guard but Youngblood is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
