PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Parkman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jack Parkman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Cable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Parkman!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cable lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Parkman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Parkman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Parkman fails to land with a series of punches.
Parkman moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A solid leg kick lands there for Parkman.
The fight stays on the outside here - Parkman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Parkman feints a jab promting Cable to slip. Parkman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cable slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Parkman lands with an uppercut that bounces Cable off the ropes and back into rage.
Parkman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Cable closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parkman circles away.
Parkman slips under a jab.
Cable tries a head kick but it misses.
A right-left combo lands from Parkman.
Cable plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Jack Parkman has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cable is looking to land body kicks.
Cable shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parkman pinned against the cage. Parkman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cable is breathing heavily.
Parkman connects with a jab.
Parkman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cable moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Parkman lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Parkman goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Parkman avoids a kick to the body.
Parkman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cable shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Cable. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cable tries a head kick but it misses.
Parkman lands a two punch combo.
Parkman scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Parkman pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cable back to the ropes. Parkman follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cable drops his hands momentarily and Parkman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Parkman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Parkman duly obliges.
Parkman misses with a wild combination.
Parkman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Parkman drives through and clinches with Cable against the ropes.

Parkman is trying to trip Cable. He has hold of a leg but Cable is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Parkman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Parkman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Parkman wants to control from the top but Cable keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cable preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Parkman won't allow Cable to sweep him here.

Parkman postures up in Cable's guard and throws a big left but Cable blocks it.
Parkman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cable. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cable has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parkman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Parkman tries to free his leg and advance position but Cable is retaining full guard.
Parkman is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parkman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cable looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Parkman is in close to Cable's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Parkman wants to control from the top but Cable keeps moving.
Parkman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cable wants to sweep here but Parkman controlling him for the moment.
Parkman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Parkman is looking to stand up but Cable won't let him.
Parkman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cable works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parkman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cable swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cable pushes a forearm under Parkman's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Parkman is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sean Cable!
