PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gold Mint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pietro Rava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rava's choice of entrance music: Blue October - Drilled a Wire through my cheek. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mint throws a lazy right hand but Rava sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mint misses with a series of wild punches.

and Rava counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mint!
Rava trying to control but Mint is having none of it.

Mint is staying active underneath Rava, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mint is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rava pulls his head out easily.

Rava is taking a breather. Mint says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mint jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rava walks away with a smile on his face. Mint gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rava connects with a nice short shot to Mint's temple.

Well Rava has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
