Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Zangief! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wladimir Pushka! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping body kick lands there for Pushka. Pushka tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Zangief counters with a lovely straight right hand! Zangief misses with a straight right. Zangief throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Zangief throws a right hand that misses
and Pushka counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pushka wants to clinch. Pushka closes the distance but Zangief moves to the side and Zangief counters with a straight right hand. Pushka lands a big head kick that sends Zangief tumbling to the mat! Pushka takes a step backwards and waves Zangief back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Ivan Zangief has been cut. Pushka throws a head kick but Zangief moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zangief. Pushka throws a sloppy head kick and Zangief moves out of range easily. Good leg kick by Pushka there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pushka.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zangief misses with a right hand and Pushka counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Zangief is lucky that one didn't land flush. Pushka throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Zangief avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pushka lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pushka throws a combination that misses and Zangief decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pushka's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zangief showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Zangief missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Zangief throwing strikes from guard but Pushka blocks nicely. Pushka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pushka working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zangief. Pushka preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wladimir Pushka dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ivan Zangief's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Pushka counters with a head kick that drops Zangief to the mat! Zangief scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Zangief is rocked! Zangief misses with a left hand and Pushka counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pushka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zangief on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Pushka throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Zangief comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wladimir Pushka seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pushka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wladimir Pushka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pushka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Zangief rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pushka counters with a crisp one two that drops Zangief! Pushka thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Zangief to his feet! Zangief is in big trouble! Oh Zangief is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pushka misses with a combination
and Zangief counters with a nice uppercut. Zangief seems to have got his legs back now. Zangief is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Zangief throws an off balance right hand
and Pushka counters with a head kick that drops Zangief to the mat! Zangief scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Ivan Zangief's cut is getting worse.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whack! Pushka lands a heavy head kick that drops Zangief. The ref tackles Pushka to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Zangief was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Wladimir Pushka! Wladimir Pushka is the new heavyweight champion!
