Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between North South (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, North South!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Millar!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. South defends it nicely.

Millar gets tackled into the cage by South. South maintains the clinch.

Millar tightens his grip and picks South up, before dumping him to the ground. South manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
South wants to get back to his feet but Millar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
South on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if South tries to get out of the position.
Millar won't allow South to sweep him here.
Millar trying to control the position from guard on top but South is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Millar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Millar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Millar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

South has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Millar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for South.
Millar is looking to take a break and control but South is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Millar works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on South's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Millar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Millar wants to control but South is keeping him busy.
The referee asks Millar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Millar prefers to stall for the moment though.
South wants to control but Millar postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Millar is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down South's shoulder. That is not cool.

Millar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
South is trying to buck Millar off.

Millar decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Millar gets off balance looking for a body kick
and South counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Michael Millar has been cut.
Millar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and South counters with a straight right hand.
Millar looks gassed!
South throws a wild body kick that Millar sees coming a mile off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Millar blocks a head kick by South.
Look low, kick high! South uses the oldest trick in the book to send Millar tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! South is absolutely delighted - when Millar wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). North South!
