9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Yevgenyevich Beschastnykh! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Rich Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brown, right into the meat.
Beschastnykh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brown counters with an inside leg kick. Brown with a lazy takedown attempt and Beschastnykh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brown actively working from the bottom here. Brown regains full guard. Nicely done. Beschastnykh looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Brown is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beschastnykh defends well. Beschastnykh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beschastnykh has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brown is on top in guard.

Brown looks to land a strike but Beschastnykh avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown stands and throws Beschastnykh's legs to the side, diving into side control. Brown scoring with punches and elbows. An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Beschastnykh has escaped the position, nice work there. Brown postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Brown working the strikes but Beschastnykh uses the opportunity to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown is trying to work for a kimura but Beschastnykh is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brown throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Brown dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Brown misses with a low kick as Beschastnykh jumps back. Brown connects with a solid leg kick. Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Beschastnykh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Beschastnykh is breathing heavily.

Brown drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Beschastnykh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brown has Beschastnykh in his guard. Brown looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Beschastnykh is defending well. Brown quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Beschastnykh has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Brown celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
