Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicoli Value (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicoli Value!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Value misses with the combination.

and Johnson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Value did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

Value pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.

Value really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Still in half guard, Johnson seems content to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Tony Johnson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Value swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Johnson uses his free foot to push down on Value's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Value.

Value is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Value tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Value is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Johnson controlling from the full mount.

Johnson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Value swinging wildly here.

Johnson looks to land a combination but Value avoids it well.
Johnson throws a head kick but Value moves out of range.
Value is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Value fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Johnson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Johnson misses with a straight right.

Johnson clinches up with Value and pushes him back against the cage.
Value is looking to break free of the clinch but Johnson has double underhooks.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Value sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Value swinging wildly here.
No joy there for Value, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Value did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

Johnson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Johnson pushes Value off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Value's guard now.
Tony Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson gets to his feet. Value looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Value uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
Value misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nicoli Value seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Value dodges the punch combination from Johnson.

Johnson has Value pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Value manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Value is trying to force a seperation but Johnson has the dominant position.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.

Value has had enough of the clinch but Johnson keeps him there for the moment.

Johnson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Value has managed to escape the submission attempt.

BOOM! Johnson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Johnson gets a clinch.

Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Value's guard.
Value takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Johnson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Value to get to his feet.

Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Value was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Value is defending well.
Value parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Value to escape.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
