Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Otto Vetch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yoshihiro Akiyama! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vetch has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Akiyama misses with a combination
and Akiyama takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Vetch wants to land a leg kick but Akiyama is out of range. Akiyama swings for the body but Vetch moves out of range.

letting Akiyama counter with a right hand. Akiyama scores with a three punch combo!
Vetch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akiyama's waist but Akiyama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vetch off to one side. Akiyama swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vetch counters with a nice leg kick. Akiyama takes a swing at Vetch's ribcage but misses. Vetch has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Vetch tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vetch moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Akiyama throws a combination that misses letting Vetch counter with a right hand. Vetch shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Akiyama sprawls well. Akiyama wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vetch gets slowly back to his feet. Vetch avoids the body shot from Akiyama.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akiyama rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Vetch counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Akiyama misses with some punches.

Vetch is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Akiyama is defending well for now. Vetch looking to slow down the pace here. Vetch blocks an uppercut.

Akiyama misses with a short punch on the inside. Akiyama blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Vetch using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Akiyama has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Akiyama throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Akiyama gets through Vetch's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vetch lands a knee to the body.
Vetch comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Akiyama blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short body shot lands from Vetch as the two fighters clinch.

Vetch lands a body punch in the clinch. Akiyama stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Akiyama has a couple of punches blocked by Vetch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Vetch. A short body shot lands from Vetch as the two fighters clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Akiyama throws a head punch that misses. A short right hand to the side of the head by Vetch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Akiyama tries to throw a body punch but Vetch avoids it by throwing Akiyama back against the cage. Vetch gets through Akiyama's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vetch cracks Akiyama with a nice body shot. Vetch misses with a punch to the body.

Akiyama throws a punch but it's blocked by Vetch. Vetch manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Akiyama wanted to stand there but Vetch had control of the position. Akiyama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vetch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vetch pulls Akiyama in close to prevent any damage. Vetch wants to sweep here but Akiyama controlling him for the moment. Akiyama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vetch is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Akiyama frees his head nicely. Oh but Vetch has switched to an armbar! Akiyama is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
