Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ang Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Cohen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ang Bak!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cohen checks it well.
Cohen lands a nice hook to Bak's body. Bak takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cohen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cohen misses with a wild combination.
Cohen throws a series of punches but Bak moves out of range.
Bak throws a low kick but Cohen avoids it.
Bak with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Bak throws a quick inside leg kick.
Bak connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bak turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bak.
Cohen has a takedown stuffed.
Bak lands with a slapping head kick.
Cohen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bak thumps Cohen with a low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bak throws a head kick that misses.

Bak scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bak takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Cohen misses with a right hand
and Bak counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cohen.
Bak lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cohen at a distance.
Bak misses with a leg kick
and Cohen counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Ang Bak has been cut.
A head kick misses from Bak.
Bak throws out a leg kick but Cohen moves out of range and Bak only half commits.
Cohen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bak misses with a head kick.
Cohen moves out of range as Bak throws a body kick.
Bak throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bak throws a sloppy head kick
and Cohen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Cohen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cohen won't allow Bak to sweep him here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cohen drops back looking for a leg! Bak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bak manages to kick Cohen off! Cohen jumps back into Bak's guard.

Cohen forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bak is positioning himself well to prevent Cohen advancing to mount.
Cohen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Cohen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bak's head.
Cohen thows a huge punch but Bak dodges it nicely.

Cohen is looking for submissions but instead, Bak has regained full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Brian Cohen will probably get the nod.

Cohen loads up on a big right hand but Bak slips the punch.
Bak just misses with a punch to the body.
Cohen throws a hook to the side of Bak's head but Bak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Brian Cohen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cohen throws a front kick aimed at Bak's knee but Bak avoids it well.
Bak swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cohen avoids the head kick by Bak.
Bak takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Cohen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bak.
Bak takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Cohen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bak's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cohen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cohen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cohen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cohen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bak's guard.

Cohen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bak sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
