Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between North Dakota Elite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Lopez enables Elite to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lopez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Elite has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lopez has his foot on Elite's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elite works his way back into a safe position though.
Lopez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lopez is trying to drag Elite to the mat but Elite just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Elite throws a strike but Lopez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Lopez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Elite has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lopez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Elite wants to stand and escape but Lopez is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez stands and throws Elite's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Elite pushes Lopez away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lopez gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Lopez wants to control the pace but Elite is squirming around nicely.

Elite's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lopez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Elite looks a forlorn figure.

Elite moves in looking to clinch but Lopez pushes him off.

Elite is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lopez's half guard.
Lopez is trying to maintain the position but Elite is very close to passing his half guard.
