Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Winters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leroy Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters throws an overhand right that lands on Jenkins's shoulder, as Jenkins tries to avoid the shot.
Nice shot lands for Winters.
Jenkins takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jenkins ducks under a wild hook from Winters.
Winters scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jenkins takes one on the button.
Winters misses with a wild combination.
Jenkins thows a left - swing and a miss!

Jenkins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Winters manages to get back to half guard.
Jenkins wants to pass to mount but Winters is defending the position.
Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Winters keeps working.

Winters wants to control but Jenkins is keeping busy.
Winters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jenkins slows the pace down in half guard.

Jenkins seems to be working for a kimura but Winters defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jenkins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jenkins distracts Winters with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jenkins throws a strike but Winters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Winters is looking to advance position but Jenkins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jenkins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Winters hang on?
Winters gets back to half guard.
Jenkins trying to mount his opponent but Winters defends it.
Winters works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jenkins wants to control from the top but Winters keeps moving.
Jenkins is pushing down on Winters's leg trying to pass to half guard. Winters is fighting to maintain full guard but Jenkins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jenkins thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Winters to regain full guard.

Jenkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Winters is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Jenkins looking to sit in guard and control but Winters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Winters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jenkins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Winters has Jenkins in his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Leroy Jenkins will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jenkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Winters controls Jenkins momentarily but Jenkins frees himself.
Winters has control of Jenkins's left arm, preventing Jenkins from doing any damage.
Jenkins wants to control from the top but Winters keeps moving.
Jenkins trying to move into half guard but instead Winters has managed to sweep!
Winters stops Jenkins from standing up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.

Winters isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jenkins stacks Winters on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jenkins!
Winters takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Winters takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Jenkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Winters keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Winters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leroy Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
