The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Van Amstel is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gracie in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Van Amstel tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gracie!
