PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Zabuza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Puska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puska comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rähinä Räp kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Zabuza!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Puska!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puska misses the jab.
Zabuza has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Zabuza there as he acknowledges the shot.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zabuza pushes Puska off looking to stand but Puska dives back in and keeps control.
Puska is looking to advance position but Zabuza won't allow it.
Puska works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puska has control of Zabuza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zabuza regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Puska moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Zabuza has worked his arm free - good work by Zabuza!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Puska is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Puska is trying to control the action in half guard but Zabuza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Puska stalling away here and it's allowed Zabuza to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Puska is looking to take a break and control but Zabuza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mike Puska showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Puska lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
