Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lightning Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Crash by 12 Stones. Storm has chosen Jay Z - Moment of Clarity as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lightning Storm!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Storm manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Storm throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Storm misses with a series of wild punches.
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lightning Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Storm smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Storm thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Storm throws a leg kick but Davis moved away.
Storm's corner calls for a 1-2. Storm obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Davis counters with a right hand to the body.
Davis takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Storm misses with a low kick.
Storm throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davis misses with a looping right.
Davis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Storm throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Storm keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Davis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Storm works the jab nicely.
Davis scores with the left hand. Storm knows he should have avoided that one.
Davis ducks under a wild hook from Storm.
Storm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davis.

and Davis counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Davis is looking to wear down Storm with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Storm throws a body punch but Davis moves out of range.
Storm feints and then cracks Davis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Davis down.
Storm looks to clinch
and Davis counters with a stiff right hand.
Davis lands a slapping body shot.
Storm tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Davis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Storm doesn't seem bothered though.

and Davis counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Davis.

Davis is looking to work some ground and pound but Storm has wrist control.

Davis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Davis stopping the sweep attempt from Storm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Storm looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Storm seems a little lost for a moment, as Davis dominates the positioning.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Storm can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davis in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Storm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Johnny Davis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Davis connects with a body shot that sends Storm's belly button to the back.
Storm throws a head kick that misses
and Davis counters with a nice body shot.
Storm pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Storm is looking to clinch.

Nice takedown defense from Storm. No joy for Davis on that attempt.

and Storm counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Storm.

Storm throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Daviss head.

and Davis counters with a stiff right hand.
Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Storm but Storm pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A decent looking cross lands there for Davis.
Davis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Storm lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Davis cracks Storm with a right hand to the side of the head.

Davis shoots in and bounces Storm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Davis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Davis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Storm was well out of range. Poor timing from Davis.
Storm attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Davis throws an overhand right that lands on Storm's shoulder, as Storm tries to avoid the shot.
Davis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Storm.

and Davis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Storm counters with a nice low kick that buckles Davis's knee momentarily.

Storm is trying to control but Davis manages to pass to mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Johnny Davis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Davis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Storm is looking to improve his position but Davis isn't that keen on the idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Davis wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Davis lands a nice hook to Storm's body. Storm takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Davis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Storm.

Storm throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Davis counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Davis counters with a nice body shot.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
