Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Chapel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer comes to the cage accompanied by Not Now James,we're busy. Chapel has chosen Madsen - Nitro as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trent Chapel!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer lands with a straight right. Chapel didn't see that one coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Palmer misses the target.
Chapel misses with a shot to the body
and Palmer counters with a right hand to the body.
Chapel connects with a looping right hand.
A cross from Palmer lands.
Chapel pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Palmer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Palmer is looking to clinch.
Chapel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Palmer backs up against the cage.
Chapel throws a shot from downtown. Palmer moves away and avoids it.

Palmer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chapel.
The crowd cheers as Chapel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Palmer doesn't seem phased though.

Chapel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Palmer makes his way to full guard, as Chapel worked for a kimura.

Palmer pushes Chapel off and scrambles back to his feet.
Chapel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Palmer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Palmer connects with a body shot that sends Chapel's belly button to the back.
Chapel misses with a takedown attempt - Palmer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Chapel has his takedown stuffed
and Palmer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Chapel throws a shot from downtown. Palmer moves away and avoids it.

Palmer ducks under a wild hook from Chapel.

Palmer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Chapel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Trent Chapel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chapel tests Palmer's chin there with a solid looking shot.

enabling Palmer to counter with a crisp jab.

Chapel drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chapel wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving.

Palmer manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Palmer tries to clinch but Chapel moves away
and Chapel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Chapel throws the kick towards the body but Palmer avoids it.
Chapel connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Palmer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A looping hook to the body misses from Palmer. Chapel does a little dance to reset his feet.

Chapel's corner calls for a 1-2. Chapel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Palmer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chapel.

Chapel throws a jab but it's blocked by Palmer.

Chapel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chapel pushes Palmer away with a front kick.
Chapel moves out of range of the strikes.
Palmer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Palmer tries to bum rush Chapel with a series of wild strikes but Chapel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Palmer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chapel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Palmer's head backwards.

and Chapel counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Chapel is keen to just control but Palmer is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palmer pushes Chapel off but Chapel dives into side control.
Chapel has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Chapel moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Palmer has worked his arm free - good work by Palmer!
Palmer pushes Chapel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chapel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Palmer is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Trent Chapel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chapel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
