Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Webster comes to the cage accompanied by Run to the Hills by Iron Madien . Ben Webster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Webster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Mercer! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Webster swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Webster. Webster working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Mercer tries to bench press Webster off him but Webster keeps the position. Webster cracks Mercer with a big right hand but Mercer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Webster landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Webster decides to take the fight back to the feet. Webster shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Webster showed some decent athleticism there. Mercer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Webster.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercer is trying to get back to full guard. Ground and pound from Webster. Mercer trying to control from the bottom.
Mercer is refusing to be controlled, as Webster sits in half guard. Mercer keeping hold of Webster's head, controlling as best he can. Webster sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mercer defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mercer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Webster. Webster is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Webster throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Webster looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Webster with the ground and pound but Mercer uses the opportunity to regain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Webster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Webster postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Webster wants to pass the guard but Mercer is keeping the position. Webster won't allow Mercer to sweep him here. Webster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Webster wants to stand but Mercer has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Webster has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Webster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mercer is trying to keep Webster in close.
Webster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Webster throws a big right hand that misses. Webster with a nice head shot there. Webster is looking to work some ground and pound but Mercer has wrist control. Mercer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Webster with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Webster is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Webster dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Webster stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Webster wants it to stay on the feet. Mercer takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Webster tries to clinch but Mercer is having none of it. Webster tries to clinch but Mercer moves out of range. Webster fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mercer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Webster uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mercer. Mercer shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Webster eats them both and turns towards Mercer to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Mercer scores with a nice strike. Webster misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Webster fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A jab-cross combination lands for Mercer and sends Webster crashing to the mat! Mercer follows him down to the mat - Webster regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Webster is rocked!
It looks like Ben Webster has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mercer content to control rather than advance. Webster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mercer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ray Mercer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Webster is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mercer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mercer controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mercer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ray Mercer has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Mercer throws a combination. Webster tries to block but a couple of punches get through. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Webster is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ben Webster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mercer scores with a hook. Mercer lands with a right that hurts Webster. Webster looks to clinch but Mercer throws a short knee that drops Webster. This one is all over!
