Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Houchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Connor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 50 Cents- Many Men. Houchin has chosen Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Connor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayne Houchin! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Houchin throws the left hand but Connor avoids the punch easily. Connor doesn't manage to clinch there - Houchin circles away.
The crowd cheers as Connor lands an impressive looking overhand right. Houchin doesn't seem phased though. Connor throws a poor cross that misses
and Houchin counters with a good, hard body kick but Connor shrugs it off. Connor throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Houchin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Houchin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Houchin trying to control the pace. Connor tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connor won't allow Houchin to pass to mount. Connor landing small, sideways elbows. Houchin trying to control from half guard but Connor is working away. Connor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Connor. Houchin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Connor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Houchin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Houchin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Houchin has gone for a leg lock! Connor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Houchin's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor wants to control from the top but Houchin keeps moving. Connor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Houchin is keeping the position for now. Connor throwing strikes from guard but Houchin blocks nicely. Connor throws a big right hand that misses. Connor throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Connor trying to control the position from guard on top but Houchin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Connor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Connor postures up in Houchin's guard and throws a big left but Houchin blocks it. Houchin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Houchin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Connor. Houchin wants to stand up but Connor is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Connor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Connor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Houchin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Connor, into his guard. Connor looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Connor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Wayne Houchin dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Houchin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Connor throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Houchin wants to pass the guard but Connor is keeping the position. Connor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Connor is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Houchin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Houchin landing with the ground and pound. Connor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Houchin is aware though and is defending well. Connor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Connor wants to hit a switch here but Houchin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Connor there! Connor gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor actively working from the bottom here. Houchin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Connor is trying to get back to full guard. Connor trying to control but Houchin postures up.
Connor moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Wayne Houchin has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connor thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Houchin trying to control but Connor is working from the bottom. Connor tries to land a sweep but no joy. Connor controls Houchin momentarily but Houchin frees himself. Connor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Houchin slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Connor. Connor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Houchin is working away from the top position though. Connor tries to roll over but Houchin keeps him under control. Houchin works his foot free and advances to mount. Connor really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wayne Houchin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
The fighters circling - Connor throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Connor with a poor takedown and Houchin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Connor looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Houchin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Connor punching from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Houchin thows a huge punch but Connor dodges it nicely.
Houchin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Connor is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Connor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Houchin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Houchin's back! Houchin turns into Connor and is now in his guard.
Connor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Houchin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Connor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor working for submissions but it's allowed Houchin to get to half guard.
Connor is pressing down on Houchin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Will Connor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Connor looking for a guillotine here but Houchin defends easily.

Houchin wants to control from the top but Connor keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Houchin is looking to advance position but Connor has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Houchin wants to hold on but Connor pushes him away. Connor is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Houchin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
You get the feeling that Houchin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Connor lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Houchin hang on? Connor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Will Connor. Well Houchin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
