The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assassin wants to slow Kuraba down by chopping away at his legs.

Kuraba feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Assassins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kuraba tries a head kick but it misses.

Assassin shoots in for a takedown but Kuraba shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Assassin throws a low kick but Kuraba moves out of range easily.

Kuraba looks to land a combination. Assassin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Kuraba fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Assassin on the side of the head.

Kuraba lunges at Assassin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Assassin's hand.
Assassin moves forwards but Kuraba connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kuraba scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Kuraba counters with a left and a right that stings Assassin.

Kuraba scores with a one two! Assassin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Assassin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Canadian Assassin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Kuraba has cracked Assassin with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Kuraba lands another huge swinging hook and Assassin tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Assassin, before Kuraba can land any more shots!
