Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hector Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Gander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hector Lombard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pierre Gander!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gander counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lombard won't be happy with that.
Gander wants to control but Lombard is keeping him busy.
Lombard wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lombard could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gander tries for a kimura but Lombard is defending well.

Gander decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lombard to his feet.
Gander shoots in looking for a takedown but Lombard manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gander's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lombard throws a right hand that Gander ducks under and follows up with a left that Gander also avoids with ease.

Gander has Lombard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lombard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lombard has had enough of the clinch but Gander keeps him there for the moment.

Lombard swats away the attempt to clinch by Gander.
Gander closes the distance and clinches up with Lombard, looking for a takedown. Gander pushes Lombard against the cage but Lombard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hector Lombard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre Gander.
Gander closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lombard to the mat! Lombard manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lombard wants to get back to his feet but Gander is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gander wants to control from the top but Lombard keeps moving.
Pierre Gander has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lombard lands with a straight right. Gander didn't see that one coming.

so Gander counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gander thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gander has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lombard!

Lombard is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gander trying to control but Lombard is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pierre Gander dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lombard throws a jab when Gander was well out of range.

Lombard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gander fails with a takedown attempt.
Gander dodges the punch combination from Lombard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gander shoots in looking for a takedown. Lombard tries to sprawl out of it but Gander keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lombard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gander shoots in for a takedown but Lombard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hector Lombard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre Gander.

Gander thuds his shin into the meat of Lombard's side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gander throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Hector Lombard has been cut.
Gander lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lombard gets tackled into the cage by Gander. Gander maintains the clinch.

Gander manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lombard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lombard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Lombard is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Lombard has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Gander working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Lombard is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Gander has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Lombard taps out!
