Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Airey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaxson DuBrul!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Airey throws a head kick that misses
and DuBrul counters with a body kick that stops Airey in his tracks momentarily.

DuBrul thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Airey is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

DuBrul has gone for a leg lock! Airey slips out almost immediately though and dives into DuBrul's guard.
DuBrul is trying to control the position but Airey postures up.

DuBrul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Airey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DuBrul drops back looking for a leg! Airey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Airey manages to kick DuBrul off! DuBrul jumps back into Airey's guard.
Airey lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for DuBrul!

and DuBrul counters with a three punch combo that has Airey backing up. Airey nods at DuBrul to acknowledge the strikes.

Pablo Airey has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
DuBrul fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Airey throws a lazy head kick

and DuBrul counters with a single leg into guard. Airey didn't expect that.

DuBrul shoots for a double leg takedown but Airey sprawls well. He's pushed DuBrul's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Airey throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. DuBrul was covering up waiting for the punch and Airey finishes the takedown easily into guard.
DuBrul can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Airey controls the pace.

DuBrul doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Airey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pablo Airey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaxson DuBrul.

Airey with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Airey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Airey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DuBrul on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Airey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down DuBrul for as long as he can get away with.

Airey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at DuBrul to see if he's OK.
Airey works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
DuBrul is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Airey has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DuBrul takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
