Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cote comes into the arena with Apologize blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Jones! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Jones scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like James Cote has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A punch combination from Jones misses. Cote blocks a head kick by Jones.

Cote moves into range and clinches up with Jones. Cote has clasped his hands together around Jones's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Cote lands a few punches from side control. Cote in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Cote thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Cote cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Cote misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cote's best efforts. Cote knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Cote throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. Cote seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jones is looking to control Cote's leg but it's slowly edging free. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cote is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cote escapes and gets back to his feet. A head kick misses from Jones. Jones misses with a double jab
and Cote counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Cote has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Jones is trying to push Cote away but Cote has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cote turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cote manages to end up in side control. You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cote with the ground and pound but Jones regains half guard under the barage of strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cote rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. James Cote is winning the standup battle so far. That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Cote has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cote. Jones looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Cote is defending well. Jones quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cote has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jones celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
