Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Rolston! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Malik Alexander! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander dodges the punch combination from Rolston.
Alexander throws a solid leg kick but Rolston takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Alexander. Alexander fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rolston keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alexander jabs at Rolston's body. Alexander has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alexander there as he acknowledges the shot. Alexander swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rolston. Rolston takes one to the side of the head.
Alexander connects with the punch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rolston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alexander moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander throws a solid leg kick but Rolston takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Alexander. Rolston throws a nice looking combination but Alexander bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Alexander lands with a good body shot. Alexander throws a lazy right hand but Rolston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rolston slips a jab from Alexander. Alexander looks to land a body kick but Rolston moved away. Malik Alexander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alexander rushes Rolston and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rolston lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short right from Alexander on the inside. Alexander tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Alexander misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rolston stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Rolston. Alexander lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rolston or not. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alexander misses with the head strike.
Rolston looking to slow down the pace here. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Alexander. Alexander swings wildly with an uppercut but Rolston uses good head movement to avoid it. Alexander tries a body shot but Rolston blocks it.
Rolston is looking to break free of the clinch but Alexander has double underhooks. A nice right hand lands inside from Alexander. A quick uppercut on the inside from Alexander. Rolston is trying to push Alexander away but Alexander has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Alexander throws a head punch that misses. A short right from Alexander. Alexander tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rolston breaks the clinch.
Alexander fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rolston. James Rolston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Alexander tries to clinch but Rolston moves out of range. Rolston moves away from the strike by Alexander. Alexander misses with a kick to the body.
Alexander fails in his attempt to clinch. A low kick from Alexander is predictable there and Rolston counters with a two punch combo. Rolston misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rolston waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Alexander. Alexander connects with a body shot that sends Rolston's belly button to the back. Sloppy strikes from Rolston. Those never looked like landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rolston takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Nice body kick there by Alexander. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alexander looks to land a right hand but Rolston moved out of range. Rolston tries to clinch but Alexander is having none of it. Rolston uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alexander. Rolston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Alexander counters by clinching up. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alexander tries to work over Rolston's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A head punch blocked on the inside by Rolston. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Alexander. With the fighters up against the cage, Rolston throws an elbow but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malik Alexander dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Alexander is looking to clinch but Rolston is avoiding it.
Alexander gets in close and instigates a clinch. Alexander blocks an elbow strike. Alexander scores with a shoulder strike. Alexander lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A short right from Alexander on the inside. Alexander throws a head punch that misses. Rolston blocks an uppercut.

Rolston is looking to control Alexander's arms but Alexander gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rolston has his back to the cage. Rolston lands with a short shot to the head.
Alexander is rocked! Rolston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Alexander is still on wobbly legs! Can Rolston finish him? Rolston moves into range and clinches up with Alexander. Rolston digs a right hand into Alexander's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alexander's gas tank. Rolston lands a body shot in the clinch.
Alexander has a couple of punches blocked by Rolston.
Rolston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A big right followed by a crushing left from Rolston knocks Alexander out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
