Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Duane Jackson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stan Winner! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Jackson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Winner makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Jackson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Winner closes the distance and clinches. Jackson scores with an uppercut up the middle. Winner lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Winner gets underhooks to prevent Jackson's takedown attempt.
Winner lands a shoulder strike. Winner is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jackson can't fight it off and eventually Winner manages to take the fight to the floor. Jackson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jackson is looking to stand up but Winner isn't so interested in that idea. Jackson is looking for a triangle but Winner pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winner trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson is trying to control the position but Winner postures up. Winner forces his way into half guard. Jackson wants to get back to full guard but Winner has mounted him!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Winner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jackson blocking the ground and pound. Winner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape. Winner controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Winner's attempts to control the action. The referee warns Jackson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Winner sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Winner avoids the attempt from Jackson to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stan Winner dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jackson drops his hands momentarily and Winner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Winner ducks under a wild hook from Jackson. Winner fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jackson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Winner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Winner plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Winner tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jackson counters with a straight right hand. Stan Winner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson moves out of range of the strikes. Jackson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Winner shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Winner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Winner pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Winner misses with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Winner is just out of range. Jackson scores with a punch to the head. Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Winner counters with a nice leg kick. Winner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jackson's calf. Jackson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Winner wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs. Winner punishes Jackson's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Winner moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winner connects with a body shot that sends Jackson's belly button to the back. Winner throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Winner throws an ugly left hook that misses

Stan Winner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Winner throws a combination that misses and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. Winner will be more careful next time no doubt.
