Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Megatron Skeletor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Woods! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woods fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Skeletor fails with an attempt to clinch.
Skeletor misses with a head kick.
Skeletor doesn't manage to clinch there - Woods circles away.
Woods avoids a punch combination nicely.
Skeletor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Skeletor passes to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Skeletor breaks from Woods's wrist control and lands an elbow. Skeletor landing strikes from the mount and Woods is in trouble! Woods is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woods takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Woods looks gassed! Skeletor trying to control but Woods is having none of it. Woods bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Woods preventing the sweep. Woods pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Skeletor is keeping the position for now. Skeletor has Woods pulled in close to control his posture. Skeletor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Skeletor has his foot on Woods's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Woods works his way back into a safe position though. Skeletor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Skeletor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Woods feints and as Skeletor raises his hands in defense, Woods changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Skeletor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Woods is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Woods slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Woods makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Woods. Woods bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Skeletor's guard. Woods pushing down on Skeletor's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Woods is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Woods is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Woods is looking for a kimura but Skeletor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Woods to get the leverage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods moves nicely into side control. Skeletor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Woods on the ground. You can see the frustration on Skeletor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Skeletor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Woods wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Woods wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Skeletor, who protects the arm well. Skeletor is looking to regain half guard here but Woods keeps moving and retains side control. Skeletor sneaks back into half guard. Skeletor is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but David Woods will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Woods keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Skeletor tries to clinch but Woods is having none of it. Skeletor is looking to clinch. Skeletor is looking to clinch. Skeletor gets in close and instigates a clinch. Skeletor looking for a takedown. Woods's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Woods is looking to break free of the clinch but Skeletor has double underhooks. The is referee keeping an eye on Skeletor - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Skeletor can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Megatron Skeletor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Skeletor misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Woods.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Skeletor drops down looking for an ankle pick but Woods pulls his leg out and moves away.
Megatron Skeletor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skeletor looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Skeletor has his hands clasped together but Woods extends an breaks Skeletor's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Woods.
