Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randy Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Pembelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pembelton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hail Mary by Tupac. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Pembelton!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh throws a right and a left that Pembelton avoids nicely.
Marsh uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pembelton has time to react.
A lazy left from Marsh finds it's target.
Marsh rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Pembelton counters with a takedown into side control.
Pembelton lands a few punches from side control.
Pembelton misses with the ground and pound.

Pembelton is trying to get an arm triangle but Marsh is defending well.

Pembelton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pembelton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marsh is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Pembelton creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Marsh is trying to get back to half guard.

Pembelton working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Pembelton tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Pembelton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marsh keeps working.
Marsh is looking for a sweep.
Pembelton is trying to ground and pound but Marsh uses the momentary lack of control by Pembelton to regain half guard.
Pembelton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Marsh's head.

Marsh keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Pembelton not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Pembelton thows a huge punch but Marsh dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marsh keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Pembelton is keen to just control but Marsh is a slippery customer.
Marsh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pembelton is working away from the top position though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pembelton connects with a nice short shot to Marsh's temple.
Pembelton is trying to control the action in half guard but Marsh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pembelton lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pembelton wants to work for an arm triangle but Marsh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Marsh is trying to get back to full guard.
Pembelton throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Pembelton dominated that round.

Marsh drops his hands momentarily and Pembelton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pembelton working for submissions but it's allowed Marsh to get to half guard.
Pembelton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Pembelton has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marsh is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pembelton.
Marsh tries to score with some ground and pound. Pembelton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Pembelton is looking for a sweep.

Marsh in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Pembelton dodges the ground and pound from Marsh.

Pembelton is trying to improve his position.
Marsh cracks Pembelton with a big elbow.

Marsh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pembelton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Marsh is looking to take a break and control but Pembelton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pembelton shoots and misses

and Marsh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pembelton's guard.

Pembelton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marsh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marsh wants to control from the top but Pembelton keeps moving.
Marsh passes Pembelton's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Marsh wants to free his trapped foot but Pembelton is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Marsh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pembelton keeps working.
Pembelton is positioning himself well to prevent Marsh advancing to mount.

Well, if Marsh is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pembelton.
Pembelton doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Marsh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Randy Marsh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Marsh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
