Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Milat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Buckles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red Buckles is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Milat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Red Buckles! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buckles shoots and misses and Milat counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Buckles looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Buckles wants to pass the guard but Milat is defending well. Buckles prevents Milat from standing back up.
Milat wants to get back to full guard. Milat is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckles works his foot free and advances to mount. Milat is trying to escape the mount.
Milat is squirming around, avoiding Buckles's attempts to control the action. Buckles looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Milat is wriggling around trying to escape.
Buckles looking to finish Milat with some ground and pound. This is bad for Milat! Buckles can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Milat is looking to escape. Buckles looking to finish with strikes here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buckles looking to control but Milat is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Milat is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Buckles jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Milat is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Milat and Buckles has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Buckles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Milat keeps working. Buckles tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Milat is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Buckles has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buckles thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Milat is trying to buck Buckles off. Milat is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Buckles tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Buckles throwing shots but missing, from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Red Buckles dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Buckles with a poor takedown and Milat counters by clinching up. Buckles has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Buckles wants to break free but Milat has control.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Milat creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Buckles tries to circle away but Milat has him pinned against the cage. Buckles is looking to break free of the clinch but Milat has double underhooks. Buckles blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Milat is leaning against Buckles and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Milat lands a body shot. A short right from Milat on the inside. The referee calls for Milat to work.
Buckles is trying to break free. Buckles is breathing heavily. Buckles working hard to break the clinch. Milat lands a right hand that snaps the head of Buckles backwards. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Milat throws a predictable looking body shot
and Buckles counters with a single leg into guard. Milat didn't expect that. Milat kicks Buckles off and gets to his feet. Buckles walks into a jab. Buckles misses with a combination
enabling Milat to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckles misses with a takedown attempt and Milat cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ivan Milat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Red Buckles. Buckles misses with a takedown attempt and Milat counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Buckles thinking. Milat fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buckles manages to avoid it. Buckles shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Buckles misses with a takedown attempt and Milat makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Ivan Milat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Milat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Milat lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Milat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Buckles. Red Buckles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Milat throws a body punch but Buckles moves out of range. Buckles slips under a jab. Buckles gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Milat makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Milat swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Buckles on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. No joy there for Buckles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Buckles uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Milat. Milat throws a lazy uppercut
and Buckles counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Buckles throws a series of punches but Milat moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Milat dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of Red Buckles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buckles gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Milat counters with a nice uppercut. Buckles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckles shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Milat counters with a nice body shot. Red Buckles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Milat takes a swing at Buckles's ribcage but misses. Buckles keeps the fight on the outside. Nice shot by Milat. Milat tries to clinch but Buckles moves out of range. Milat misses with a hook
and Buckles counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Milat throws a poor cross that misses
so Buckles counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Milat manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Buckles fails with the takedown and Milat makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Milat waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Buckles. Buckles shoots and misses and Milat counters with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buckles throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Milat counters with a nice body shot. Milat slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Milat works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Milat throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Buckles counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nice shot lands for Milat. Milat throws out a loose jab but Buckles uses good head movement to avoid it. Buckles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Milat.
And that's the end of the fight! Ivan Milat showed his dominance in that final round. I think Milat has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
