Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Toni Turpa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turpa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Landis misses with a wild body shot. Turpa shoots for a takedown but Landis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Landis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Turpa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Landis scores with a nice strike. A cross from Landis lands. Landis throws the left hand but Turpa avoids the punch easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Turpa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Landis. Landis cracks Turpa with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Turpa looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Landis finish him?
Turpa is rocked!
It looks like Toni Turpa has been cut. Landis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Oh Turpa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Turpa wants to clinch. Turpa seems to have got his legs back now. Turpa moves forwards but Landis connects with a nice, crisp jab. Landis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Turpa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Landis misses with a hook
and Turpa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Turpa defending well as Landis loads up on a big left hand. Turpa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Landis swivels and escapes. This has been an exciting period of action! Landis throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Turpa misses with a looping right. A jab from Landis misses. Turpa shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toni Turpa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turpa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Landis. Landis slips a jab and a cross from Turpa.
Turpa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Landis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Turpa is in Landis's guard. Turpa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Landis is controlling Turpa's posture. Turpa trying to control but Landis is working from the bottom. Turpa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Landis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Landis can do anything to dispel that myth. Turpa is looking to work some ground and pound but Landis has wrist control. Turpa trying to control the position from guard on top but Landis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Turpa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turpa shoots in for a double leg but Landis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Turpa moves out of range of the strikes. Landis throws a hook to the side of Turpa's head but Turpa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Landis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Turpa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Landis ducks right into an uppercut from Turpa. Turpa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Landis defends it nicely. Turpa thows a left - swing and a miss! Landis sizes up Turpa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Turpa throws the left hand but Landis avoids the punch easily. Turpa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Landis is able to avoid easily. Landis lands a big right hand that sends Turpa crashing to the mat! Landis stays standing though and waves Turpa back to his feet! Landis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Landis throws a jab when Turpa was well out of range. A swing and a miss from Landis. An inside leg kick from Landis misses. A telegraphed right hand from Turpa misses the target. Landis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Turpa walks into a straight right hand from Landis.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turpa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Landis's guard. Turpa looking to pass the guard. Landis pulls Turpa in close to prevent any damage. Turpa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Landis is keeping the position for now. Landis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Turpa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Turpa stopping the sweep attempt from Landis.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Landis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Landis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Landis wants to take Turpa's back here but Turpa is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Turpa is desperately trying to improve his position but Landis has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Georgie Landis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Toni Turpa's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Landis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Turpa. Turpa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Turpa throws a jab when Landis was well out of range. Landis misses with a straight right. Turpa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Landis drops Turpa with a beautiful combination! Turpa stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Landis is looking for the KO! Turpa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Landis counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
