Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thor Petersson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Pederson! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petersson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pederson has closed the distance and engaged Petersson in a clinch.

Pederson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Petersson has him pressed against the cage. Petersson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Pederson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Petersson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pederson regains guard.
Petersson is looking to stand up but Pederson won't let him. Pederson wants to sweep here but Petersson controlling him for the moment. Petersson postures up.
Petersson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pederson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pederson keeping full guard, as Petersson tries to pass. Petersson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Thor Petersson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Petersson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Pederson wants to hold on but Petersson pushes him away. Petersson controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petersson avoids the attempt from Pederson to control. Pederson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Pederson looks gassed! Petersson trying to control the pace. Pederson trying to control from the bottom.
Pederson tries to roll over but Petersson keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petersson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pederson is trying to control but can't.
Petersson is taking a breather. Pederson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Petersson wants to pass to mount but Pederson is defending the position. Petersson sitting and controlling from the half guard. Pederson works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thor Petersson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Petersson circles away from the clinch attempt and Petersson counters with a straight right hand. Pederson throws a poor cross that misses
and Petersson counters with a takedown into side control. Pederson can't do much from the bottom here. You can see the frustration on Pederson's face as Petersson controls the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pederson breaks the clinch.
Petersson swats away the attempt to clinch by Pederson. Petersson clinches but Pederson breaks the clinch and Pederson counters by moving into the clinch. Pederson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pederson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Petersson is keeping busy. Pederson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Pederson tries to stall but Petersson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thor Petersson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pederson is trying to break the clinch but Petersson has him pressed against the cage. Pederson tries to break the clinch but Petersson is controlling the position. Pederson has had enough of the clinch but Petersson keeps him there for the moment. Petersson goes for a takedown attempt but Pederson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jeremy Pederson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petersson forces Pederson back against the cage and clinches. Pederson working some nice short punches in the clinch. Pederson is trying to maintain a safe position but Petersson gets an underhook and turns Pederson into the cage. Pederson manages to break the clinch.
Pederson dances in with a quick combination. Petersson is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Pederson snaps Petersson's head back. Petersson stumbles backwards against the cage. Pederson steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Petersson's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Petersson just didn't come prepared.
