Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Washington!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Washington is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Washington wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Green working Washington over with strikes here.

Green is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Washington is surviving well by controlling Green's body position as best he can.

Green has control of Washington's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Washington regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Washington is working to get back to half guard.

Green working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Green postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Washington looks a forlorn figure.

Washington tries to kick Green off but Green keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Washington wants to get back to his feet.

Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Green is thwarting Washington's attempts to control the position.

Green is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Washington is just riding it out for now. Green eventually gives up the hold.

Green is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Washington has managed to free his arm - good work.
Green is breathing heavily.

Washington is trying to stand back up but Green is controlling him
Green works his way into full mount!

Green with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Washington wants to improve his position but Green is controlling well.
Washington tries to kick Green off but Green keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Washington is in trouble now - Green has advanced to mount!
Green is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Washington looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Green has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Washington! Can he survive? No! He's out! Green gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
